So Kurosaki Isshin doctor is also Kurosaki Isshin, Shinigami. No, I am not 'smoking anything' as you kids say. ^^ Starting in chapter 186 it is revealed that Daddy Kurosaki was a Shinigami as he saves Kon (in Ichigo's body) and kills the Hollow who killed Masaki. He had apparently retired (perhaps for his family?) but Urahara knows him and they seem to have the inside track on the coming hollow war. Spoiled enough?
